Google dedicates doodle to Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez

Considered one of the most significant writers, his style of writing draws one into a world of magical realism. Today's doodle brings to life the magical city of Macondo which is depicted in his book, 'A Hundred Years Of Solitude'. 

Márquez who was nicknamed Gabo is one of the greatest writers of the Spanish language and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. He was born on March 6, 1927, in Aracataca in Colombia. His parents moved away when he was young and so it was his grandparents that shaped his early years.
